Ceiling, in most units. There is rarely more than 15 centimetres of wall between the window head and the slab in a City Centre suite, which is not enough for a wall bracket to look deliberate. A ceiling track also buys you the full drop. Where a bulkhead runs along the window, we mount to the face of it instead.

Only if the room asks for it. Sheers soften the daylight and give the glass some texture during the day, and they do nothing after dark. A blind or a blackout panel behind them handles privacy and sleep. Living rooms in these towers often take sheers alone, since the height above the street already provides most of the privacy you need.

This is the real constraint in a tower. Flat fabric runs about double the opening width, and more again for full pleats, so an open panel still occupies a stack. With no spare wall, we either extend the track onto the return wall or accept that the panels sit over the outer edge of the glass by day. We mark the stack depth at the measure.

A battery motor handles most lined drapery across a run of three to four metres without complaint. Heavy velvet or an interlined panel across a full window wall is where it starts to struggle, and the batteries need charging more often. For those we plan a wired motor at the design stage while the ceiling detail is still open.
