Yes. The remote talks to the motors directly over radio, so the blinds work whether the internet is up or not, and a timer set on the remote keeps running through an outage. Wi-fi only becomes necessary when you want voice control or app access from outside the house. Plenty of families here run a full year on the remote before adding a bridge.

Not with battery motors, and that is the version we fit in townhouses for exactly this reason. Nothing gets wired, nothing enters a shared wall, and the only fixings are the bracket screws at each window. Hardwired motors are a different conversation and would need an electrician plus whatever your corporation requires before work starts inside a unit.

Drop is rarely the limit. A roller can run 4 metres or more of length before the roll gets too fat for the bracket, and width is what constrains it at roughly 3 metres per blind. On a two-storey wall we usually treat the upper and lower sections separately so the lower one can be adjusted for privacy without dropping the whole height.
