Yes. A chain-operated roller holds anywhere you leave it, and a motorized one takes a favourite position so a button sends it to the same height every time. That is useful on a window where the sun sits low for an hour and the rest of the view is worth keeping. Set the favourite once and it stays.

Only with the right fabric. A vinyl or PVC-coated roller handles constant humidity and chlorine in the air, while a woven textile absorbs both and eventually smells like the room. Hardware matters as much as fabric there, so we spec coated brackets and a coated bottom bar. Bare aluminum corrodes fast in a pool enclosure.

We remake it. Every blind is measured by us and cut to those measurements, so a fit problem is ours to fix and there is no argument about who measured what. The rest of the order goes up on the day and the remake follows a couple of weeks later. It is uncommon, and out-of-square openings are where it happens.
