Most of them disappear under the new headrail, because a replacement track lands within a few centimetres of where the old one sat and is usually wider. The ones that show are the outriggers from a valance return. We fill those and leave them ready for paint, though we do not paint. The parts that fight you are the cord run and the wand, both sized to the original track and both needing to be shortened as well. On a track already twenty years old, the carriers are the next thing to fail anyway.

A light gauge PVC vane flexes when you turn it and picks up a permanent bow within a few years on a door that gets daily use. The heavier grade hangs straighter and takes the knocks. On a door nobody touches, the light one is fine and we will say so. On the main way to the yard, it is not.

Vacuum both faces with a brush head a couple of times a year. PVC takes a damp cloth and mild soap. Fabric vanes are stiffened with a coating, so they cannot go through a machine or sit in a bathtub without coming out limp and wavy. Spot clean those with a barely damp cloth and let them hang to dry. If one vane is beyond saving, we replace that vane alone from the original order.
