Lined drapery is quietly one of the better insulators we sell: closed panels trap an air layer across the glass, blunting both the escarpment-side winter draught and the summer-evening heat load on west rooms. It won't out-insulate a cellular shade, but combined with one it makes exposed Milton great rooms comfortable in both seasons.
