Decorator fabric is woven in dye lots, and two runs of the same cloth ordered a year apart can sit a shade apart in daylight, which shows across an open plan main floor and never shows between a bedroom and a dining room. So we order the great room, the kitchen and anything on that sightline together, and let the upstairs wait until you are ready. Tell us the plan at the measure and the ordering follows it.

In a room with high ceilings it can be, and in a standard eight foot room it usually crowds the window. A pelmet is a shallow box that hides the track and the heading, so it makes sense where the hardware is exposed and awkward. The cost is depth, since a pelmet needs to project past the stacked panels. Most of what we hang now goes up without one and looks better for it.

Paint first, then measure, then hang. We can measure a room that is still in primer, but the brackets go into finished paint so nobody is cutting in around a track afterward. Flooring should be down as well, since the drop of a floor length panel depends on the finished floor height. If the schedule is tight, we measure early and hold the order until you are ready.

Yes, and it is worth watching us do it once at handover. Pin hooks lift out of the carriers one at a time, and the panel comes off in one piece with the hooks left in the heading. Rehanging is the same in reverse, starting at the leading edge so the folds fall the right way. The only part people get wrong is dropping a panel into the carriers out of order, which shows immediately as a fold that sits backwards.
