Not the way people hope. Sound comes through the window assembly itself, and a curtain hanging in front of it does not seal that path. What lined panels do is absorb reflections inside the room, so the noise that gets in sounds duller and less sharp. Panels running floor to ceiling across a whole wall do more than a narrow pair. If the noise really bothers you, the window is the thing to fix.

We take the hardware, and the panels go wherever you want them. Old rods, brackets and tracks come down as part of the install and leave with us, along with the anchors where we can get them out cleanly. Screw holes get filled if they are not covered by the new brackets, though we do not paint. Panels with life left in them are worth a charity shop, so we usually fold them and leave them with you rather than assuming.

The return is the short piece at each end where the track or rod bends back and the panel meets the wall. It matters because it closes the gap along the outer edge, where light and cold air otherwise come straight past the fabric. On a wide window with a lined pair it is the difference between a curtain that looks finished and one that hangs like a flag. Returns need about ten centimetres of wall beside the opening, worth checking before hardware is ordered.

Yes. Carriers and end stops are replaceable parts, and a track that has been shoved sideways for a decade usually needs nothing more than new carriers and a clean. Cording is replaceable too. The hardware we hang carries a 3-year warranty, and your order stays on file with the fabric and the measurements, so a repair or a matching panel does not start from scratch.
