Not on its own. A pair of lined panels across a country great room window runs to ten kilos or more, and every time somebody draws them that load is being pulled sideways as well as down. Strapping at 400 mm centres gives us something, though it is thin. Where the track is long we go up into the ceiling joists instead, which is stronger and usually looks better on a big wall anyway.

Order it with the curtains and it comes off the same roll, which takes the dye lot question off the table completely. Two or three metres set aside covers most of what people come back for. The one caution is putting a drapery weight cloth somewhere it takes wear, since a curtain fabric on a bench seat goes thin at the front edge within a few years. Backs and trims yes, seat faces no.

Usually neither. It is that nobody ever dressed them. Dressing means running each fold the same way from the heading to the hem by hand, then tying the panel loosely for two or three days so the cloth takes the shape. We do it before we leave. It holds until somebody shoves the panel against the wall, and ten minutes once a year sets it right again for nothing.

Mice will nest in anything soft left in a cold building, and a curtain hem is as good to them as a cushion. Panels left hanging are rarely touched, since there is nothing to climb from. It is the ones taken down and put in a box on a floor that get found. If you do store them, use a sealed bin off the ground rather than a bag, and shake them out before rehanging in spring.
