Double-height drapery is a Vaughan specialty by necessity: Kleinburg and Vellore builders love the two-storey foyer and leave its window bare. We fabricate extra-long panels with weighted hems so they hang straight, mount the track at the top from scaffolding, and usually motorize the traverse since nobody is reaching that fabric by hand.

Woodbridge dining rooms lean traditional, and full-length panels in heavier weaves with pinch-pleat headings suit them. Many of our orders there coordinate with an existing marble or dark-wood palette, which is why the consultation brings the full fabric books to your table rather than a shortlist. Panels are lined so they fall in even folds.

Traversing tracks motorize cleanly and join the same scenes as motorized blinds. In newer Vaughan builds with header wiring we hard-wire the track; elsewhere a battery motor handles years of daily cycles per charge. The morning-open, evening-close routine across a great-room span is what most customers actually use it for.

For most rooms, layering wins: the blind does the daily light work and the drapery finishes the room. In a new build, panels also do something subtler, softening the echo that big empty-walled rooms have. If the budget phases the project, we usually install blinds first and add drapery rooms in a second visit.

Solution-dyed and lined fabrics. Unlined drapery on a south wall will fade at the folds within a few years, so for those exposures we lean on fade-resistant weaves and always line the panel. If the room takes serious afternoon sun, the installer will say so at the measurement and steer fabric choices accordingly.

Consultations book within 2 days most weeks, since Vaughan is our home base. Custom sewing runs 2-3 weeks. Standard rooms install in a morning; double-height foyers take longer because of the scaffolding, but still finish in a day.
