Yes. A sunrise schedule runs from the remote or the app, and you can offset it so the blinds open half an hour after sunrise rather than at first light. Different rooms can run different times. Most commuters here set the main floor to open on a clock and leave the bedrooms until later, which keeps the front of the house looking lived in.

They can, with a small sun sensor stuck to the glass. It reads the light at that window and closes the blind once you pass a threshold you set, then opens it again when the sun moves off. It works well on a west front through the summer. A plain schedule does much the same job for less, since the sun keeps a predictable timetable.

On a bright south or west window, yes. On a north window in January, no. December and early January give so little direct sun that a panel falls behind on some exposures and you top the motor up with a cable once. We put solar on the windows that earn it and plain rechargeable batteries everywhere else.

Roughly once a year on a blind you run twice a day, and less often on one you barely move. The motor warns you when it is low, either with a light on the headrail or a message in the app. Recharging takes a couple of hours with a USB cable and the blind stays on the wall the whole time.
