Vertical Blinds in Stonehaven

Vertical blinds in Stonehaven go on sliders and garden doors, and the newer streets have plenty of both. A detached home here often has a main-floor patio door onto the deck and a second slider at the walkout below it. Verticals suit those openings because the vanes push aside and stay out of the way of a door in constant use. They also repair one piece at a time. A vane that gets bent swaps out on its own while the rest of the blind stays hung, which is the difference between a five-minute fix and a new order. A walkout basement near the trail system took durable PVC verticals on the patio slider, chosen over fabric because of a dog with opinions about squirrels. Between Upper Canada Mall and Fairy Lake, the housing stock and the orders we take both concentrate. Around Stonehaven, the dominant housing types pull vertical blinds in a few specific directions. Townhome patio doors typically open onto small backyards where the slider gets daily use. Verticals stay out of the way of door traffic in a way that rollers and horizontal blinds don't. Suburban detached homes use verticals for patio doors and basement walk-outs, increasingly being replaced by motorized rollers on the formal sliders.

Vertical Blinds Service Near You in Stonehaven

Newmarket work falls into two piles. There are the century homes around Main Street and the Fairy Lake area, where windows are tall, narrow and rarely identical even side by side. And there are the newer subdivisions like Stonehaven and Copper Hills, where the challenge is scale: a dozen builder-standard windows plus one oversized great-room unit that nothing standard fits.

A surprising amount of our Newmarket business is second-time buyers. People who put up cheap coverings when they moved in, lived with them for five years, and now want vertical blinds done properly. We take the old ones down and dispose of them as part of the install, so the swap happens in one visit.

Measurements in Newmarket book within 2-3 days, and we cover the whole town plus Sharon and Holland Landing to the north. Production takes 2-3 weeks. Most installs are done in 2-3 hours.

No call centre here. The person who answers for Stonehaven is part of the same small team that measures and installs. Reach us any day by phone or through the form.

FAQ

Vertical Blinds Questions

Everything you need to know about vertical blinds. Need more help? We're here.

Should the vanes stack to one side or split in the middle on a wide Stonehaven slider?

Split draw suits a door where people come and go from both directions, and it looks balanced on a wide opening. One-way stack keeps the whole bundle clear of the walking side, which is better for a door with a table or a barbecue near it. We ask how the deck gets used before we write the order, because changing it later means new hardware.

Can we angle vertical vanes to cut the morning sun without closing the door off?

Yes, without touching the draw at all. Turning the vanes toward the sun blocks the direct beam and still lets the room read as open, so a breakfast area facing east stays usable at seven in the morning. Full close is a separate action on the wand. Most people tilt during the day and draw the vanes across only at night.

What usually fails first on a vertical blind?

The carriers in the headrail, which are the small clips each vane hangs from. Cheap ones crack and drop a vane after a few years of daily use. The tracks we fit run heavier carriers and a metal headrail, and both are replaceable on their own if one ever does go. The vanes themselves outlast the hardware.

Is there a cordless option for vertical blinds on a Stonehaven basement slider?

The wand version is the cordless one, and it is standard on our verticals. You turn the wand to tilt and slide it to draw, so nothing hangs down beside the door. Basement playrooms are exactly where we push for it, since a loop cord at that height is within easy reach of a toddler. It is what we fit unless you ask for something else.
