Custom Zebra Blinds Thornhill – Free Installation

Corner rooms here catch morning light on one wall and late sun on the other, so a single openness rarely serves both. We usually spec a tighter 3 percent sheer band on the west or south wall and something more open on the north or east side. The solid bands stay the same across all of it, so the room still reads as one set of blinds.

Every blind is cut to the opening it covers, so odd sizes are normal work rather than a special order. We measure the width at the top, the middle and the bottom of each frame, then build to the tightest of those three numbers. Frames in established homes settle over the decades, and a 3 or 4 millimetre difference across one window is common.

Not always. Inside mount looks cleanest and it needs roughly 50 millimetres of flat frame depth for the bracket. Plenty of established Thornhill homes have deep wood casings that give us more than that. Where the frame is shallow, or where the casing is worth keeping in view, we mount outside on the wall above and the fabric covers the trim line.

A pass with a vacuum brush every month or so is enough for most rooms. Forced air moves dust onto fabric faster than people expect, and spring pollen through open windows adds to it. Marks on the solid bands lift with a barely damp cloth. Do not soak the fabric, because wet polyester can stretch and then the two layers stop lining up.
