They can be, and there is an easy way around it. A baton draw removes the cord entirely. You pull the leading edge of the panel by hand with a wand and nothing hangs down at all. On a very wide track the panels get heavy to pull, which is where a motor makes sense instead. If you keep a corded track, it needs a floor tie-down so the loop is never loose.

Less than most people expect. A typical sheer knocks the edge off the glare and softens the shape of the light, but a room facing full afternoon sun stays bright behind them. They do more for daytime privacy than for light. If you need a room genuinely dark or cool, the sheer is the outer layer and something opaque has to do the work behind it.

Usually, and we plan for it. Your order stays on file with the fabric, the dye lot and the workroom details, so a second set can be cut to match. Dye lots do drift over a year or two, and on panels hanging in the same sightline that shows. If two rooms face each other, we would rather make both at once, even if one set waits in the box for a while.

The lining is slip stitched in at the sides so the leading edge hangs plumb rather than curling, the hem is deep enough to carry weight with the corners mitred and lead weights sewn in, and the heading is stitched through a stiffened band. On a panel four metres tall those details are the difference between fabric that hangs and fabric that leans.
