There is a wall option. The radio remotes pair to a flat keypad that screws to the wall like a light switch, with no wiring behind it, so it can sit beside the door where a switch would normally go. Most houses end up with both, a keypad for the room and a handheld for the chair you actually sit in. The keypad is the part that stops the remote from living under a cushion.

One at a time, though it is less of a chore than it sounds. Each tube takes a cable at its end for a few hours, and most people work through the house over a weekend once a year with two or three chargers on the go. The cable is the same sort a phone uses, so a power bank does the job on a window nowhere near an outlet. Blinds still run normally while charging.

Plaster on its own will not, and a motorized tube is heavier than a manual one, so it is worth sorting before install day. We find the framing around the opening and screw into wood wherever it exists, which in an older house means the studs flanking the window rather than the wall above it. If the only fixing point is bare plaster, toggles spread the load behind the lath and hold. The plugs in a hardware pack will not.

The motor does not know or care. It counts turns of the tube, so it stops where you taught it to stop regardless of what the frame is doing. What a crooked opening changes is where you want the bottom to land, since a bar set level will sit closer to the sill at one end. We teach the lower limit by eye with you standing in the room rather than working to a measurement off the frame.
