It is fine in a normal bathroom with a working fan. Steam does not warp the fabric the way it can lift a wood slat, and the tube is aluminum. Two cautions. In a small room where the shower sits right beside the window, leave the blind raised while the fan runs so the fabric dries. And skip the pale sheer if the window is over a tub that gets splashed, since water marks show.

They can, provided the porch stays above freezing and reasonably dry. The fabric and the aluminum tube do not mind cold. What they mind is standing damp, and an unheated porch collects that on the glass through the shoulder seasons. Mount high on the head casing so the hem clears the sill, and plan on keeping the blinds raised over the winter. If the porch doubles as a mudroom, take a fabric that wipes down.

There is a practical floor of roughly thirty centimetres in width. Below that the bands are too narrow to align properly and the roll looks bunched. Height is rarely the limit. For very small openings we often suggest an outside mount that overlaps the casing, which lets us build a slightly wider blind that operates properly and covers the opening better than a cramped inside fit.

Fitted inside the openings, a little, because each blind follows its own frame and the eye reads the top line first. Two ways round it. Set every bracket at one height on the casings outside the openings, and the heads agree even though the windows do not. Or fit inside and match the drops instead, so the bottom rails land level when the blinds are down. In a room you sit in, the bottom line is the one you look at.
