During the day, yes. Looking through the sheer bands from a lit room is like looking through a screen door, where the trees read clearly and the fine detail softens. After dark it reverses, because your lit room is now the bright side and anyone in the yard sees more than you do. That is when the solid bands go across. Lighter fabric colours hold the view better than dark ones.

The blind comes off its brackets, which is a ten second job once you have done it once. Both ends unclip by hand and the whole roll lifts out in one piece. What we do at the measure is set the brackets forward far enough that the sash clears the roll when it swings in. Tell us the windows tilt and we plan the mount around it.

Not much on their own. One layer of fabric across a window does very little against sound arriving through glass. What helps is mass and trapped air, so a lined drapery panel hung over the blind makes a real difference, and so does the window itself. If noise is the main complaint, put the money into the glazing before you put it into the blind.

Not the blind, only the routine around it. A storm sits well outside anything we hang indoors, so the fabric, the mount and the depth all get measured the usual way. What changes is the year. Once the storms come off in spring the interior sash starts opening again, and a blind sitting in a shallow reveal can foul the crank or the lift.
