Roller Blinds in Aurora Village

Front doors around Church Street and the Cultural Centre often have a narrow window beside them, and that is the first thing people mention when they order roller blinds in Aurora Village. Rollers suit these houses because the hardware is small. A slim bracket wants about 30 mm of depth, so the blind tucks into the opening and leaves the old trim showing. The fabric range runs from an open weave that keeps the daylight through to a full blackout for the bedrooms upstairs. Everything is cut to the millimetre off our own measurement, not off a number written on a builder's drawing. Understated rollers went into a home near the Aurora Cultural Centre where the owner collects art and wanted the windows silent. Raised, they disappear; lowered, the wall colour continues. Homes near Hillary House and the Yonge Street Aurora corridor are where we see the most consistent demand. Around Aurora Village, the dominant housing types pull roller blinds in a few specific directions. Heritage-character homes typically reserve rollers for the bathrooms and back-of-house spaces. Period-appropriate treatments like wood blinds and drapery handle the principal rooms.

Roller Blinds Service Near You in Aurora Village

Aurora keeps two housing markets side by side: heritage streets near Yonge and Wellington where trim and plaster deserve respect, and newer estates toward Bayview and St John's Sideroad where windows come tall and wide. We treat the two differently. Inside mounts with minimal drilling for the old wood, heavier hardware and longer drops for the new builds.

The estate homes in Aurora Estates and Hills of St Andrew often have staircase and landing windows two storeys up. Those are the reason our vans carry scaffolding as standard. It also means a roller blinds quote in Aurora is measured from a ladder, never estimated from the floor.

We book Aurora measurements inside 2-3 days most weeks. You get the itemized price at the visit, the order goes into production for 2-3 weeks, and the install typically wraps in a morning.

Quotes for Aurora Village homes are free and stay valid while you decide. Call whenever suits you; the line is answered every day of the week.

FAQ

Roller Blinds Questions

We would rather not put screws through the original casings in our Aurora Village house. Is there a way around it?

Partly, and it depends on the window. An inside mount puts the brackets on the top of the reveal, so the holes land on a surface nobody sees and the face of the casing stays untouched. That is what we do in most heritage rooms. Where the depth is not there, the fixings have to go somewhere, and the wall above the casing takes them better than the trim does. Filled holes in plaster disappear. Filled holes in old varnished wood do not.

Is there a choice on the bottom bar, or do we get whatever comes with the blind?

There is a choice and it matters more in an old room than people expect. A plain aluminum bar is the default and it reads as hardware. A bar wrapped in the same fabric disappears into the blind, which suits a room where the woodwork is meant to be the only hard line. There are also weighted enclosed bars for wide windows. We bring the options to the measure because photographs never show the difference.

Do roller blinds look out of place in an Aurora Village heritage home?

They can, if the fabric is wrong. A flat white vinyl roller in a room with 1890s casings looks like it was bought for a different house. A textured linen-look weave in a warm neutral reads much closer to what belongs there, and a fabric-wrapped bottom bar helps. Keep the blind inside the opening so the wood frame is still the thing you notice.

One of our sashes leaked and left a tide mark down the blind. Can that come out?

A water mark is one of the harder ones, because what you are seeing is usually the mineral content of the water left behind after the fabric dried, not dirt. Try a barely damp cloth with cold water, blotting from the outside of the mark inward, and let it dry hanging down. Do not use soap on a coated fabric. If the mark stays, we re-cover the tube with fresh cloth and everything else on the wall is reused.
