Height is rarely the limit. Weight is. We have hung rollers well past three metres of drop, but at that length the tube has to be larger and the chain gets long enough to be awkward by hand. If the window is original single glazing, a cellular shade with its trapped air pocket is the covering that measurably helps, and even then the glass is still the weak point in the wall.

They cut it down a long way. A solar screen with a low openness blocks most of the ultraviolet while you keep the view, and a blackout fabric stops it outright when it is down. Nothing prevents fading altogether, since visible light does some of the work too. The practical approach is to run the blind low through the hours the sun is on that wall and leave it up the rest of the day.
