Yes. Most patio sliders sit inside the width a single roller handles, and mounting on the wall above the frame lets the fabric hang past the handle instead of fighting it. Use a fabric with some weight so it hangs flat when the door is open, and expect to raise the blind on your way outside. If you use that door constantly, verticals or a panel track stay out of the way better.

Inside the opening, in most cases, because the bulkhead has taken away the wall a bracket would normally use. If the reveal gives us forty millimetres we mount in there and the bulkhead hides the head of the blind completely. Where the reveal is too shallow, the brackets go onto the face of the bulkhead itself, which needs solid backing behind the drywall. We check what is up there with a probe before quoting rather than after.

A chain roller runs on a clutch, so it stops wherever you stop pulling and holds there all day. A cordless spring is wound to carry that blind's own weight: you push the bottom bar up or pull it down and it stays put, with nothing hanging at the side. Springs suit small and medium windows and rooms with children in them. On anything wide or tall the spring has more to hold, the action gets stiff, and a chain is easier to live with.

Some do. Thin blackout fabrics with a coated back are the usual offenders, and they curl when one face of the fabric heats while the other stays cool, which is exactly what a sunny window does to them. Better blackouts are bonded rather than coated and stay flat. Width plays a part too, since a very wide, very short blind is more prone to it. We steer people away from cheap coated stock in sunny rooms.
