Dark enough to sleep in most cases, not dark enough to call it a blackout room. Closing the solid bands blocks the fabric itself, but light still comes around the edges of an inside mount, and a sunny east wall in June will find those gaps. If your sleep depends on it, mount outside the frame with a generous overlap, or put a blackout roller behind and use the zebra during the day.

It should not, and it is worth saying at the measure so it does not. Screens on a horizontal slider lift out toward the room, which needs a few centimetres of clear space in front of the glass. An inside mounted blind hangs closer than that, so we either set the brackets forward in the reveal or take the whole blind outside the opening. Either way the roll clips off its brackets by hand in seconds if you need it clear.

Less odd than you think, as long as the colours agree. Zebra and roller hardware share the same cassette shape and the same tube, so from the hallway they read as one family. Where it goes wrong is mixing a cool grey roller with a warm cream zebra on the same sightline. Bring us the old blind or a photo at the measure and we match tone first, texture second.

Usually. A blind that creeps down has a worn clutch, which is the mechanism at the chain end that holds position. On most systems the clutch comes off the tube and a new one goes on without touching the fabric. If the fabric itself is sun damaged or stretched, that is a different job and the fabric gets replaced on the same tube. We look before we quote.
