Two things to accept. The panels stack in front of the glass rather than beside it, so you lose some daylight, and there is no return at the sides to close the edge. They solve the same problem differently. A holdback is a fixed arm on the wall that the panel tucks behind, so it looks the same every day and takes no thought. A tie-back is a cord or band you loop by hand, which is more adjustable and less consistent. Both need the panel cut long enough to sweep across to the wall, so decide before the hem is set rather than after.
