Usually, yes. Deep original casings often carry enough depth for an inside mount, which is the least invasive route, and each bracket takes two screws into solid wood rather than into plaster. Where the trim is fragile or the profile is odd, we fix a hardwood cleat cut to the casing and hang the brackets off that. Taking the blind out later leaves a few small holes in the cleat and none in the trim.

You are not locked to one clock. Times can be set per blind or per room, with weekdays running differently from weekends, and most people land somewhere simple: down at dusk in the front rooms, up in the morning at the back. Seasonal drift is the part to plan for, since sunset moves a long way here between June and December. Nudging the times twice a year keeps it feeling right.

Three things, and they are worth hearing before you buy. You cannot nudge it a couple of centimetres by hand the way you can with a chain, since every move goes through the motor.
