Each handset is paired to the same motor channels, so the one in the unit runs the blinds day to day and the one in your drawer still works when a tenant moves out with theirs. Pairing an extra handset is a few minutes per motor, done from the button on the motor head. Keep yours out of the unit rather than in a kitchen drawer, or you end up buying a third.

Where the power comes from and what you do about it afterwards. A battery tube is self contained, takes a charge once a year and can go into a finished wall with nothing behind it. A plug-in motor runs off a transformer on a nearby outlet, never needs charging, and leaves you a lead to hide. Both use the same remotes and behave identically day to day. In a unit somebody else lives in, fewer things to remember is worth something.

Keep it off the app. With a plain radio remote, anybody in the room can raise and lower the blind but nothing can be reprogrammed without the buttons on the motor head. If you want schedules, run the hub on an account you hold rather than one set up on a tenant phone. Swapping the remote between tenancies costs almost nothing and keeps it simple.

Yes, they leave with us unless you want them kept. Old blinds come down first, the brackets come off, and anything worth salvaging in a unit you own elsewhere gets bundled and left with you instead. Screw holes that the new brackets do not cover get filled. What we cannot do is take away the builder blinds still sitting in their boxes in your garage, which comes up more often than you would think.
